The Poem That Never Was

Well now
S'been quite a long while
I'm sick and broke and kind of pissed off, so I thought I might try and crank something out
Seven hundred people and everything sounded under water
I should be in bed fer chrissakes
Unobtainable women and food
Sworn at by some stranger
"Whaddya mean you don't know Dale?
That's absurd.
They're asking to be touched.
Dale always lets us touch.
I don't have to stand here and take this from you.
I can drink where I like.
Dale always lets me.
You should be ashamed of yourself, a public figure.
I have to watch everyone.
Please, oh for god's sake please stop touching those!
Needed and resented all at once
And the drinks walk past.

Was this during your tenure at the art gallery? Because it has remnants of jackass patrons written all over it.
